Position Summary
We are seeking a Sales Engineer to lead new product introduction (NPI), process development, and support business development activities. This role combines strong technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities to drive growth and support strategic sales efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support business development by identifying new opportunities and assisting in sales strategy execution.
- Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop proposals, create technical content for presentations, and participate in customer meetings and RFQ responses.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis to support pricing strategies and value proposition development.
- Lead NPI efforts, including hands-on process development and technical support for new programs.
- Analyze cost structures and recommend pricing models to maximize profitability.
- Partner with plant managers and quality teams to ensure delivery on customer expectations.
- Develop training programs and operational plans for new product launches and continuous improvement.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer visits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 5-10 years in a related role preferred.
- Proven experience in Sales Engineering, Applications Engineering, or Technical Business Development.
- Familiarity with NADCAP, AS-9000, aerospace or medical OEM systems is a plus.
- Experience with shot peening, blasting, metal finishing, and machining is preferred.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software required.
- Strong customer-facing skills, with the ability to present technical content clearly and persuasively.
- Hands-on, mechanically inclined, and capable of working with automation and PLC systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 30–40% post-training for customer and site visits.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and comply with ITAR regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Proficient in business and CRM software; strong analytical and mathematical skills.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Frequent standing; occasional lifting (up to 70 lbs), walking, climbing, and handling tools or materials.
- Exposure to dust, noise, oil, and grease in a manufacturing setting.
- PPE such as safety glasses and steel-toed shoes required.
