Job Description

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Designer for a position located in Edina, Minnesota. The Designer will be designing electric distribution projects using GIS-based systems and mapping tools.

The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate will have previous experience in electrical systems, GIS, mapping, project management, construction, or related fields.

• Manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, from planning through completion.
• Coordinate with internal teams including engineering, operations, and construction to ensure successful project execution.
• Support new residential and commercial service applications and installations.
• Oversee and manage projects within assigned service territories.
• Serve as a point of contact for internal and external customers, providing project updates and support.
• Collaborate across departments to maintain schedules, resolve issues, and meet project objectives.
• Perform distribution system design work and maintain accurate updates within GIS platforms.
• Conduct site visits and field inspections to assess project requirements and verify field conditions.
  
  

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous experience in electrical systems, GIS, mapping, project management, construction, or related fields.
• Experience with electrical distribution design preferred.
• Exposure to project management principles and coordination activities.
• Strong customer service and customer-facing communication skills.
• Background in construction, utilities, or infrastructure environments preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working with GIS platforms and mapping systems preferred.
