Job Description
One Tech Engineering is searching for a Construction Manager for a position located in Del Rio, Texas. The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing construction of a Battery Energy Storage Systems project.
The candidate must be a US citizen or hold a green card. The candidate should have previous electrical utility construction experience, preferably previous battery storage project experience.
Electrical Construction Manager Responsibilities: - Overall monitoring manager of the site.
- Direct and coordinate activities of assigned Field Observers.
- Work collaboratively with the Owner’s Project Manager to oversee and coordinate the Owner’s other contractors’ scopes of work.
- Attend the pre-construction meeting with all involved construction entities as required.
- Attend the weekly progress meetings to be held by the EPC Contractor as well as the Owner’s internal stakeholders.
- Attend the monthly progress meetings to be held by the EPC Contractor as well as the Owner’s internal stakeholders.
- Through direct field observations, and by evaluating Field Observers’ reports, ensure that the construction work complies with all applicable plans, specifications, building codes and other legal or regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that the Field Observers observe and report on the required safety check points.
- Collect, verify, and report on the completeness of the required safety process documentation from each of the contractors on site, and review any unsatisfactory results and provide reporting for the entire project through designated channels.
- Manage the relationships with the Owner’s client and stakeholders.
- Act as facilitator for the resolution of site level conflicts, such as construction problems, scheduling delays, logistical conflicts, and construction methods.
- Work directly with the Owner’s project director, project managers, EPC contractor, other contractors, BESS supplier, engineers, vendors, and others as required.
- Provide specialized support to the Owner as requested. Such support may include procurement of additional staffing, specialized equipment, or outside contract services in accordance with Owner’s processes and procedures.
- Review daily logs, construction reports, and inspections.
- Coordinate final inspections, testing, commissioning, and walk-downs and establish final punch list.
- Proactively identify areas of potential risk and identify design or construction elements that are likely to result in disputes or claims.
- Maintain the job books and review for accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor the proper storage and security of materials and equipment.
Requirements of the Electrical Construction Manager:
- 5+ years of electrical construction experience, preferably with battery storage
- Knowledge of/familiarity with electrical construction standards and safety procedures
- Familiarity with ProjectWise and Microsoft Office is preferred.
