Job Description
One Tech Engineering is searching for a Regional Vice President for a position located in Atlanta, Georgia. The Regional Vice President will direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, and logistics quality management.
The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have 10-12 years of experience with increasing levels of leadership and managerial responsibility working directly for a 3PL / Freight Forwarding company.
Regional Vice President Responsibilities:- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
- Oversee District Managers and/or Operations Directors in formulating standardized SOPs for customers.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
- Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, training, or safety records.
- Direct or coordinate comprehensive logistical or reverse logistical functions for product life cycles, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, recycling, reuse, and final disposal of resources.
- Responsible for Vendor and Carrier Management, including but not limited to contract and rate negotiation for domestic carriers and suppliers.
- Negotiate with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability.
- Direct distribution center operations to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, or timeliness objectives
- Negotiate transportation rates or services.
- Responsible for managing the RFQ process, including but not limited to coming up with the specific Zone Tariffs for all levels of service, such as expedited and 3-5 ground service.
- Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, and carriers.
- Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
- Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
- Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, and performance evaluation.
- Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios.
- Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.
- Plan or implement material flow management systems to meet production requirements.
- Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies.
- Create policies or procedures for logistics activities
- Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management, electronic logistics. marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve efficiency, speed, or quality of transportation services.
- Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
- Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.
- Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery
- Train shipping department personnel in roles or responsibilities regarding global logistics strategies.
- Review global, national, or regional transportation and logistics reports for ways to improve efficiency or minimize the environmental impact of logistics activities.
- Any other Freight Management and Transportation-related assignments entrusted to you by the executive team of the Chairman, CEO, and President.
- Oversee the onboarding process for national accounts and develop concrete and well-written implementation guides and SOPs.
- Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
- Oversee regional and local sales representatives and staff.
- Work with the Director of HR to establish a staffing, training, and performance evaluation program that will attract, maintain, and develop top talent.
- Assist Regional Sales Executives/Directors in devising solutions to meet client needs.
- Determine price schedules and rates that will be competitive in your market area.
- Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
- Monitor customer preferences to determine the focus of sales initiatives.
- Prepare budgets and approve budget expenditures.
- Confer or consult with the management team to plan advertising services and to secure information on equipment and customer specifications.
- Participate in the execution of recruitment strategies to attract and attain impact players.
- Provide information on the company's commercial objectives, operations, and job opportunities to potential applicants.
- Coordinate with the Talent Acquisition Team to determine the most effective and efficient recruiting process for targeted position(s).
- Provide industry expertise, guidance, and recommended revisions to the Talent Acquisition Team to enhance our recruitment, evaluation, and selection criteria.
Requirements of the Regional Vice President:
- 10-12 years of experience with increasing levels of leadership and managerial responsibility working directly for a 3PL / Freight Forwarding company.
- Knowledge of transportation methods and logistics, as well as production processes, quality control, and cost-effective manufacturing and distribution
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office applications
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is preferred.
- Logistics and supply chain software (CargoWise ediEnterprise) experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
