Job Title: Patient Care Technician (PCT) – Patient Safety
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: Flexible shifts available (Evenings, Nights and weekends)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patient safety in a structured clinical environment serving our nation’s Veterans. This role focuses on continuous patient observation and basic care support, allowing you to apply your hands-on experience in a patient-centered, team-driven setting. Ideal for PCTs who value stability, consistency, and meaningful work without a heavy procedural workload.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide continuous observation of assigned patients to ensure safety and prevent harm
• Monitor patient behavior and condition, reporting any changes promptly to nursing staff
• Assist with basic patient care needs such as comfort measures and repositioning
• Support nursing staff with non-clinical and delegated patient care tasks
• Assist with safe patient transport throughout the facility
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment
• Support unit operations including room turnover and supply restocking
• Accurately document observations in accordance with facility protocols

Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a Patient Care Technician, CNA, or similar patient-facing role
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to remain attentive and engaged for extended periods
• Basic understanding of patient safety and infection control practices
• Experience in VA, military, or federal healthcare settings preferred
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (CPRS/VistA a plus)
