Job Title: Medical Technologist (MT)
Location: Palo Alto, CA

Position Summary: We’re seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join a federal facility laboratory team in Palo Alto, California, performing a full range of testing across multiple disciplines in support of patient care. You’ll run and verify lab tests, maintain instruments and quality standards, and help ensure accurate, timely results. This full-time role offers multiple shift options.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform automated and manual laboratory procedures in chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, serology, bacteriology, and immunohematology according to established protocols
• Evaluate specimen suitability and prepare specimens for analysis, requesting new specimens when needed
• Perform, evaluate, and monitor test procedures, recognizing and correcting instrument malfunctions
• Conduct quality control on equipment, reagents, and products and maintain accurate quality control records
• Calibrate, maintain, and verify correct operation of laboratory instruments
• Review and verify results, correlate them with patient data, perform confirmatory testing, and promptly report critical abnormal results to the ordering provider
• Enter, edit, and verify results in the laboratory information system and accession specimens for in-house testing or reference laboratories
• Stock work-area supplies and perform phlebotomy as needed, including blood cultures and compatibility samples

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and graduate of a medical technology program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS)
• Current ASCP or AMT certification/registration
• Minimum of 1 year of experience (including clinical training) within the past 5 years
• Full, unrestricted license in a U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
