We're looking for professionals with a passion for coding, attention to detail, and who possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Successful candidates will enjoy working both independently and collaborating as a team to overcome client challenges when needed.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of inpatient hospital
• Previous experience in an acute care facility and/or Level II Trauma Center coding
• AAPC or AHIMA coding certification required
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding guidelines CCS, CIC, RHIT, or RHIA certification Experience with several software including Epic and 3M 360 CAC
• Ensuring compliance with Health Information Management (HIM) Coding policies.
• Applying American Hospital Association (AHA) Official Coding Guidelines to accurately document principal and secondary diagnoses, as well as procedures.
• Taking responsibility for maintaining coding certification and staying updated on current ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and regulatory changes.
• Collaborating with the appropriate department or HIM staff member to obtain physician clarification on diagnoses when necessary.
• Actively participating in assigned performance improvement initiatives.
