We're looking for professionals with a passion for coding, attention to detail, and who possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Successful candidates will enjoy working both independently and collaborating as a team to overcome client challenges when needed.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of inpatient hospital
Previous experience in an acute care facility and/or Level II Trauma Center coding
AAPC or AHIMA coding certification required
Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding guidelines CCS, CIC, RHIT, or RHIA certification Experience with several software including Epic and 3M 360 CAC
Ensuring compliance with Health Information Management (HIM) Coding policies.
Applying American Hospital Association (AHA) Official Coding Guidelines to accurately document principal and secondary diagnoses, as well as procedures.
Taking responsibility for maintaining coding certification and staying updated on current ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and regulatory changes.
Collaborating with the appropriate department or HIM staff member to obtain physician clarification on diagnoses when necessary.
Actively participating in assigned performance improvement initiatives.
