Job Description

Location: Reno, NV (Remote)
Assignment Length: Ongoing with fluctuating hours based on need
Start Date:ASAP
Schedule: Monday – Friday, between 6 AM – 6 PM PST

Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Multi-Specialty ProFee Coders to assist with a backlog of hospitalist coding cases. This is an immediate need with opportunities for both full-time and part-time assignments. While this position is expected to be ongoing, candidates should be aware that staffing needs may fluctuate based on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes for multi-specialty professional services, with a primary focus on hospitalist coding
  • Review medical records and provider documentation to ensure proper coding and compliance with CMS, AMA, and payer-specific guidelines
  • Utilize EPIC and 3M 360 coding systems to input and verify coding accuracy
  • Work closely with the your Director Of PB Billing to resolve coding discrepancies and denials
  • Maintain productivity and quality standards while adhering to deadlines for claim submission
  • Stay current with regulatory changes, coding guidelines, and payer policies

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional fee coding experience, with a strong emphasis on hospitalist coding
  • Certification required: CPC, CCS-P, or equivalent (AHIMA/AAPC certifications preferred)
  • Proficiency in EPIC and 3M 360 coding software
  • Strong knowledge of E/M coding, modifiers, and medical necessity requirements
  • Experience coding for additional specialties (e.g., internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, or emergency medicine) is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid setting
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills to collaborate with providers and billing staff
