Job Description

A well-established manufacturing company in Tulsa, OK is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, and material flow supporting production.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, kitting, production replenishment, finished goods, and shipping.
  • Ensure materials are accurately received, stored, tracked, and delivered to production on time.
  • Manage kitting operations and coordinate material flow across production areas.
  • Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, physical inventories, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Ensure accurate and timely ERP/MRP or WMS transactions for receipts, transfers, adjustments, production, and shipments.
  • Optimize warehouse layout, inventory organization, material flow, and space utilization.
  • Develop and maintain warehouse, inventory-control, and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels, variances, aging, excess, obsolete, damaged, and missing materials.
  • Develop and track KPIs related to inventory accuracy, warehouse productivity, material availability, and service levels.
  • Partner with Production, Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Customer Service to resolve material and shipment issues.
  • Hire, train, schedule, coach, and develop warehouse and inventory-control personnel.
  • Maintain 5S, housekeeping, safety, and operational standards.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, materials management, or supply chain, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience with responsibility for staffing, training, performance management, and daily operations.
  • Demonstrated experience with receiving, storage, kitting, material movement, cycle counting, physical inventory, and outbound shipping.
  • Strong understanding of inventory-management principles, warehouse operations, material flow, FIFO, and transaction controls.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP or WMS systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and make sound operational decisions.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or other continuous-improvement methodologies preferred.
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP, Lean Six Sigma certification, or comparable professional training is a plus.
