Job Description

Overview:

Our client, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This role serves as a strategic business partner to facility leadership while ensuring compliance with company policies, employment laws, and operational objectives. The Human Resources Manager will oversee employee relations, recruiting, performance management, workforce planning, employee engagement, training, policy administration, and HR compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR leader with strong manufacturing experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to balance strategic initiatives with daily operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations & Leadership

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for facility leadership.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to supervisors and managers regarding employee relations, performance management, corrective action, and policy interpretation.
  • Conduct investigations related to employee complaints, policy violations, harassment, discrimination, attendance, and workplace concerns.
  • Partner with leadership to drive employee engagement and maintain a positive workplace culture.
  • Support conflict resolution and facilitate effective communication throughout the facility.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the HR staff to ensure effective HR service delivery and professional growth.
  • Delegate and prioritize HR team responsibilities to support operational and business needs.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce planning strategies.
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure successful employee integration.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the HR team regarding recruiting coordination, onboarding administration, and employee record management.
Performance Management & Development
  • Lead annual performance review processes and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assist managers with employee coaching, development plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate leadership and employee development programs.
  • Support the development and cross-training of HR staff to improve department effectiveness.
Compliance & Policy Administration
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, EEOC, and workers’ compensation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Administer and enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Support audits, reporting requirements, and HR metrics tracking.
  • Review HR processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and compliance.
Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations
  • Partner with payroll and benefits teams to support employee questions and issue resolution.
  • Assist with compensation analysis and wage administration.
  • Monitor attendance, turnover, retention, and staffing metrics.
  • Participate in benefits communication and open enrollment activities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of HR administrative processes by the HR team.
Safety & Manufacturing Support
  • Partner with operations and safety leadership to support a safe work environment.
  • Assist with workers’ compensation claims management and return-to-work programs.
  • Support manufacturing leadership in driving productivity, accountability, and employee engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of HR leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting both hourly and exempt employees.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information professionally.
  • Strong conflict resolution, coaching, and investigation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
