Position Summary
The Strategic Finance Leader will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to ownership, helping drive financial visibility, operational performance, and long-term business growth across multiple operating entities.
This role is heavily focused on financial strategy, forecasting, cash flow optimization, business analytics, and executive-level financial leadership rather than day-to-day accounting operations. The organization currently utilizes fractional accounting and controller support for transactional accounting functions.
The ideal candidate brings strong financial and operational acumen, experience managing complex multi-entity organizations, and the ability to operate effectively within a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Partner directly with ownership and executive leadership to drive financial strategy and long-term business planning
- Provide financial guidance and recommendations regarding growth initiatives, operational investments, and business expansion
- Develop financial models, forecasts, and scenario planning tools to support strategic decision-making
- Evaluate profitability, operational efficiency, and financial performance across multiple entities and industries
- Help establish scalable financial infrastructure to support continued organizational growth
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead consolidated financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow planning across all entities
- Develop KPI reporting and operational dashboards to improve business visibility and performance tracking
- Analyze margins, cost structures, capital utilization, and overall business performance
- Provide ownership with actionable insights and financial recommendations based on operational and market trends
- Assist leadership with pricing strategies, capital allocation, and investment decisions
Multi-Entity Financial Oversight
- Oversee financial health and performance across several LLCs operating in different industries and business lines
- Coordinate with external accounting resources and fractional controller support to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Review and interpret financial statements, reporting packages, and entity-level performance metrics
- Ensure consistency in financial processes, reporting standards, and controls across entities
Banking, Capital & Risk Management
- Manage relationships with banks, lenders, insurance providers, and external financial partners
- Assist with financing activities, capital planning, and liquidity management
- Monitor organizational risk and support ownership with financial risk mitigation strategies
- Support tax strategy, entity structuring, and external CPA coordination as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required
- MBA, CPA, CFA, or related advanced credentials preferred
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Strong experience within multi-entity or entrepreneurial business environments
- Background in oil & gas, industrial services, manufacturing, energy, chemicals, water management, or related industries preferred
- Strong FP&A, cash flow management, and operational finance experience
- Experience partnering directly with business owners or executive leadership teams
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining highly adaptable and solutions-oriented
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
