Position Summary
The Managed Services Systems Engineer is a client-facing technical role responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments across multiple IT Outsourcing clients while delivering exceptional, customer-focused service. This role blends infrastructure engineering with hands-on managed services delivery — providing all levels of support, managing endpoint and infrastructure systems, and serving as a trusted technical partner to clients in the energy sector. Working across a portfolio of clients of varying size and complexity, the Managed Services Systems Engineer translates business requirements into practical, scalable solutions; supports oil and gas field and corporate users; and ensures every engagement is delivered in alignment with EAG’s service management processes, security policies, and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to gather business and technical requirements and translate them into practical, scalable solutions
- Engineer, implement, and support Microsoft 365 and Azure environments across multiple ITO clients
- Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams
- Configure, deploy, and manage endpoint and infrastructure systems using RMM and other management tooling
- Configure and maintain monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery systems
- Work directly with clients on support issues and service requests via email, phone, and in-person, providing effective and efficient solutions up to Tier 3
- Provide desktop, system, application, and infrastructure support with a focus on oil and gas applications and services
- Consider creative and proactive solutions in the service provided to end users, and ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining timely service status updates
- Support oil and gas field personnel, including those on remote drilling rigs and in production offices
- Configure, deploy, manage, and maintain equipment and inventory, and install and maintain hardware and software deployments
- Follow EAG’s Incident, Change, Problem, Knowledge, Configuration, and Release Management processes
- Coordinate with team members and other ITO resources to ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests
- Maintain clear, timely communication with clients on tickets, changes, and any impacts to their environment
- Coordinate with carriers, service providers, and vendors to correct issues, and develop and maintain vendor relationships
- Evaluate third-party vendors and tools to ensure they align with client goals and EAG’s approved technology library
- Identify recurring issues and trends and partner with peers to drive root-cause fixes
- Implement and operate solutions in alignment with EAG security policies, SOC controls, and client compliance requirements
- Provide technical assistance during mergers, acquisitions, and tenant migrations
- Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and operational processes
- Track and report progress on assigned work, and raise blockers early so timelines and budgets stay on track

Experience & Education Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years in a Systems Engineer, IT infrastructure, or IT Support/Analyst role, ideally for a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or Cloud Solution Provider (CSP)
- Ability to work among multiple clients of different sizes, with varying needs and priorities
- Hands-on administration experience in Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Teams)
- Hands-on administration experience in Microsoft Azure (IaaS, networking, identity)
- Solid foundation in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and Group Policy
- Working knowledge of endpoint management and RMM tooling (NinjaOne or comparable)
- Experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware, Hyper-V, VDI, and Azure Virtual Desktop
- Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity tooling
- Experience with monitoring and alerting system configuration and management
- Practical understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals — MFA, conditional access, EDR, patching, and vulnerability management
- Basic to intermediate networking skills, including VLAN, switch, and router configuration
- Proficient scripting skills in PowerShell
- Familiarity with Microsoft CSP operations, tenant provisioning, and license management preferred
- Microsoft certifications (MS-102, AZ-104, AZ-305, SC-200, or similar) preferred
- Oil and gas industry experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy technical environment
- High attention to detail and advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Sitting / Standing / Flexibility: Ability to sit for extended periods (8 hours or more) in an office environment
- Ability to travel to client locations in Texas, including occasional travel to remote locations
- Communication Skills (Speech/Reading): Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English; ability to understand and deliver instructions in multiple formats, including written, verbal, diagram, and schedule forms
- Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds as needed
- Vision / Hearing Abilities: Capability to interpret a range of instructions presented in various formats (written, verbal, diagram, or schedule)
