Job Description

Our client is a leading provider of custom electrical power systems, specializing in switchboards, motor control centers, and automation solutions for industries such as energy, solar, and manufacturing. They're seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to add to their team in the Houston, TX area!

Successful candidates must pass a background check, MVR check and drug screening as a requirement for these positions.

Quality Control Inspector Benefits:

Quality Control Inspector Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual, dimensional, and basic functional inspections on electrical equipment
  • Inspect components such as switchboards, motor control centers, and control panels for defects or deviations
  • Conduct measurements using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Perform basic functional checks using tools such as multimeters
  • Verify product compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards
  • Document inspection results and nonconformities within the ERP system
  • Report quality issues to supervisors and support corrective actions with production teams
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure proper documentation and sign-off
  • Assist with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) initiatives as needed
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement efforts
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain compliance with company policies

Quality Control Inspector Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 6+ months of experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or a related field (electrical preferred)
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, control panels, or power distribution equipment
  • Familiarity with industry standards (UL, ANSI/NEMA, IEC preferred)
  • Experience using inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, multimeters, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies
  • Ability to follow technical drawings and specifications
  • Good documentation and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or weekends as needed

Quality Control Inspector Preferred:

  • Certificate in quality control, electrical technology, or related field
  • Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification
  • OSHA 10 certification
