Job Description

Under the general direction of the Customer Excellence Group General Manager and in accordance with short-term and long-term business strategic plans and goals, is responsible for the general accountability for Proposals, and managing all aspects of proposal process, timeliness and quality. Interact with counterparts in global affiliates to develop, maintain and improve proposal standards, processes and procedures.

DUTIES/RESULTS:

  • Provides management and administration for work process in regional proposal functions. Supervises personnel involved in proposals across the region.
  • Plans resources loading in accordance with sales forecast to meet business demand and market growth in the region.
  • Continuously promotes the improvements of work practice, process, procedure, proposal standard and work force skill sets for better efficiency, quality and accuracy.
  • Interacts with counterparts in other regions to develop, maintain and improve proposal standards, processes and procedures.
  • Prepares and executes all fiscal budgetary responsibilities including travel, general expense, and capital requirement.
  • Controls and monitors expenses related to proposals and technical support to sales from across divisions.
  • Responsible for recruitment, training, advancement and retention of proposal personnel required to support annual business plan and future growth.
  • Controls access of application for Tokuchu and special discount related to strategic project sales.
  • Participates and contributes to sales / price strategy decisions in sales, and project execution strategy decisions in Operations.
  • Advises and coordinates activities with all other departments / divisions including sales, manufacturing, engineering, service, quality assurance, finance, legal and HR.
  • Leads proposals activities for critical mega-projects to ensure timely completion with quality and accuracy and increases business opportunity in the region and global.
  • Responsible for providing uncompromised quality to all work processed in designated area of responsibility. Has the authority to stop those work processes at any time when it is believed quality is being compromised.
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% in support of regional and global business activities.

SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Education: BA or BS in Engineering or technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Prior Experience: 15 years’ industrial experience with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in control systems sales, proposals or engineering, and minimum 2 years in management.
  • Good technical knowledge of control systems in process automation, including networking, hardware and software components, engineering and integration, and project execution.
  • Knowledgeable in management including strong leadership, strategy making and execution, operational processes and procedures, cross communication and coordination skills.
