Job Description

Our client is a forward-thinking, growth-driven energy company building the future of low-carbon energy and reliable baseload power.

They don’t just operate assets — they build integrated solutions. Their end-to-end, closed-loop energy platform spans upstream production, midstream infrastructure, natural gas-fired power generation, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). This differentiated model allows them to solve our customers’ toughest energy challenges while meeting growing power demand and advancing a carbon-neutral future. But what truly sets them apart is their people.

They are a fast-paced, high-performance team of go-getters who thrive on challenge and think beyond convention. They push the envelope on innovation, continuously optimizing and scaling their platform to drive sustainable growth and long-term, risk-adjusted shareholder value. If you’re energized by big goals, bold ideas, and the opportunity to build something transformational, you’ll feel right at home here.

They are hiring a Retail Power Portfolio Analyst III to own COGS reporting, portfolio performance, and pricing insight for our Residential and Small Commercial retail book in ERCOT

You'll reconcile expected vs. actual cost and volume, flag the drivers behind variance, and put recommendations directly in front of Portfolio Management, Risk, and Commercial leadership. You'll build and sharpen the models that inform pricing, acquisition, retention, and hedging decisions in one of the most dynamic power markets in the country.

This role also puts your ERCOT fluency to work where it matters most: you'll apply your knowledge of the market, including the post-RTC+B landscape, to support day-ahead (DART) bidding strategy alongside Trading, and help sharpen the short-term decision support tooling our team relies on daily.

What you'll own:

  • Retail COGS reporting and portfolio performance analysis for Residential and Small Commercial customers
  • Variance reconciliation between expected and actual cost and volume, with clear findings for leadership
  • Analytical models and tools supporting pricing, acquisition, retention, and short-term risk decisions
  • ERCOT market analysis, including post-RTC+B dynamics, feeding into DART bidding strategy and decision support tooling
  • Seasonal hedging recommendations built on weather, demand, supply, and regulatory analysis

What you bring:

  • 3+ years in the wholesale or deregulated electricity industry
  • Strong Excel, Power BI, Python, and/or SQL skills
  • Working knowledge of ERCOT market design, including RTC+B
  • A bachelor's degree in economics, finance, math, statistics, data science, or related field
  • A bias toward accuracy, ownership, and clear communication under a fast pace

Competitive base salary plus long-term incentive plan (LTIP) eligibility. Hybrid schedule based in our Houston office.

Location

  • This position is based out of the Houston, TX office.
  • This role may work a hybrid schedule (3 days in office/2 days remote).
