Lead Engineer - Tulsa, OK

Supervisory Responsibility
This role provides direct supervision of the following teams:

  • Applications Engineering
  • Project Engineering
  • Drafting

Position Overview

The Lead Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight across engineering projects and teams. This role ensures projects are executed efficiently, meet industry standards, and align with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering projects from initial design through completion
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (design, production, procurement) to ensure timely delivery
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of engineering deliverables, including drawings, BOMs, and P&IDs
  • Develop, review, and approve technical documentation and project specifications
  • Ensure compliance with applicable oil & gas industry codes and standards (ASME, API 11P, API 618, etc.)
  • Design piping systems and separators
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for field engineers and project teams
  • Conduct cost analysis and support project estimating efforts
  • Perform fleet/package selection based on sales inquiries
  • Support additional engineering and operational initiatives as needed

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in the oil & gas industry
  • 5+ years of compression-related experience
  • Experience with natural gas systems, compressors, pumps, and turbines
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 and ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of safety practices for flammable gases, liquids, and high-pressure systems
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and safety standards
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug screening, MVR check, and DOT physical.


Work Environment

Office Setting:

  • Primarily desk-based with extended periods working on a computer
  • Occasional movement within the office for meetings and collaboration
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally

Field Travel (Occasional):

  • Travel to field sites, warehouses, and operational locations
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain and stand for extended periods
  • Required use of PPE (safety glasses, steel-toed boots, etc.)
  • Exposure to varying weather and industrial environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when needed
