Job Description

Our client is a trusted distributor and solutions provider in the piping and industrial products industry. With decades of experience, they are recognized for delivering reliable products, innovative solutions, and exceptional customer service across energy, utilities, and infrastructure markets. They're seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate to add their team in the Grand Prairie, TX area!

The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and other industrial plastic materials. This role ensures accurate inventory control, proper handling of materials, and timely order fulfillment in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving (Inbound):

  • Unload incoming shipments of HDPE sheets, rods, and related materials
  • Inspect deliveries for damage, accuracy, and compliance with purchase orders
  • Record and verify received goods in inventory systems
  • Safely transport and store materials in designated warehouse locations
  • Communicate discrepancies with vendors and supervisors

Shipping (Outbound):

  • Pick and prepare customer orders accurately based on order specifications
  • Package and label materials for shipment, ensuring protection and compliance
  • Coordinate shipments with carriers such as FedEx and UPS
  • Load trucks and ensure proper documentation accompanies shipments
  • Track outgoing shipments and update order status as needed
Inventory & Warehouse Duties
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with cycle counts
  • Operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) safely
  • Keep warehouse clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
  • Assist with stock rotation and material handling procedures specific to HDPE products
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of shipping/receiving or warehouse experience preferred
  • Experience handling industrial materials (plastics, HDPE, or similar) is a plus
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Basic computer skills for inventory systems and shipping software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
  • Stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
  • Work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
