Job Description

Our client is seeking an EHS Technician in the Hobbs, NM area to support their safety program by performing field and shop audits, ensuring regulatory compliance, and helping protect employees, customers, and company assets. This role will partner closely with operations to recommend and implement safety improvements across field service locations.

Responsibilities:

  • The EHS Technician, Field Service will educate employees and managers through one-on-one interaction and formal / informal training. Training will include new employee orientation, group training and specialized topic training. In addition, relevant EHS topics will be distributed as deemed appropriate to keep the EHS program in the forefront.
  • Will assist with monthly group training sessions as schedule allows.
  • Assist in the investigation all incidents occurring in his/her assigned area to include employee injuries, property damage, vehicle accidents and environmental incidents to identify the causes and implementation of preventative actions to minimize similar incidents from occurring.
  • Will assist in the management of employee injuries to reduce impact to the workplace.
  • The EHS Technician, Field Service will assist with the management and insure the accuracy of the online SDS program through a cooperative effort with shop managers and the Director, EHS.
  • Participate in scheduled EHS conference calls and meetings.
  • Stay current with emerging technical and professional aspects of an EHS professional and changes with internal and regulatory guidance.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in very harsh conditions (cold and hot).
  • Must be readily available to respond to emergencies, injuries, etc.
  • The EHS Technician will direct report to the EHS Manager, Field Service.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 4 years’ full-time Safety related is required. Associate Degree in Occupational Safety or a closely related field is preferred, but not required and can be substituted for work experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One or more of the following professional certifications is preferred, but not required; COSS, OHST, CHST, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as moderate to advanced computer and presentation skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Candidate will be required to develop and revise policies and procedures as well as develop and present high-level presentations and training.
