Job Description

Our client is looking for a Natural Gas Compressor Technician to join their growing team in the Alice, TX area. They provide natural gas compression equipment and services to customers globally in the Oil & Gas, Power, Transportation, and Marine sectors. With commercial and services hubs around the world, our client provides world-class services to more than 22,000 units in its installed base.

Successful candidates must pass a background check, MVR check and drug screening as a requirement for these positions.

General Summary:
The Natural Gas Compressor Technician will provide hands-on technical and operations support of Reciprocating Compression equipment and supporting utility systems within customer facilities during commissioning, start-up, operations, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, performance testing, and trouble-shooting situations as required.

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, occasional weekends
  • Hours: average of 60 hours / week. 
  • Paid during travel time, company vehicle will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute site installations for reciprocating compression equipment, including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues through standard processes, performing testing and monitoring of critical operating variables.
  • Conduct safety checks, participate in safety reviews, and address any concerns or hazards identified.
  • Collaborate with customers through on-site meetings, cultivating relationships and proactively identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Support turnaround activities including procedure writing, equipment inspections, and process improvements based on field experience.
  • Share best practices and knowledge with the broader engineering, sales and operations teams to enhance overall performance.

Qualifications:

  • Safety focused, service-oriented, business focused, a self-starter
  • Technical training in the oil and gas industry or associated industry
  • Basic hand tools or maintenance experience
  • Basic Engine & Compressor Theory
