Job Description

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Houston, TX. This role supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy industrial equipment. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting equipment upgrades across CNC and manual machinery, with a strong emphasis on Mazak equipment and controls.

Maintenance Technician Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $25–$30/hour, based on experience (Higher rates may be considered for highly qualified candidates e.g., former Mazak field technicians)
  • Overtime: Not guaranteed; may occur during urgent maintenance situations
  • 90–95% indoor work in an air-conditioned facility
  • Consistent Schedule: Monday–Friday | 4:00 AM – 12:30 PM
  • No travel required
  • One in-person interview

Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems across CNC and manual equipment, including:
    • Mazak (most critical)
    • Mazatrol
    • Mitsubishi
    • Siemens controls
    • Mori Seiki
    • QEM
    • Nagel TBT
  • Independently schedule and perform maintenance and repairs on NC and manual machines, including multi-axis lathes and mills
  • Perform preventive maintenance using written procedures and checklists
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with established procedures, documenting and reporting issues or deviations
  • Utilize hand tools and automated or semi-automated maintenance equipment
  • Develop preventive maintenance checklists for operators
  • Train and support other employees within functional areas
  • Prepare detailed maintenance reports and documentation
  • Participate in pre-job and toolbox safety meetings
  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies, including consistent use of PPE
  • Complete required safety training (forklift, electrical safety, emergency response, hazardous materials, lockout/tagout, PPE, IT security, etc.)

Maintenance Technician Experience & Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of maintenance technician experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Former Mazak field technician experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document and justify maintenance needs to leadership
  • Computer proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft Teams
  • Forklift and scissor lift experience preferred (certification provided if needed)
  • Familiarity with SAP and Brady LINK360 (lockout/tagout) preferred
  • Fine electronics and soldering experience preferred
