Job Description

Our client is seeking a Take-Off Estimator to join their team in Houston, TX. They are a leading provider of HDPE piping solutions and services, supporting a wide range of industrial and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for accurately estimating material quantities and costs, with a primary focus on underground piping systems. The Take-Off Estimator ensures projects are properly planned, cost-effective, and executed with precision and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
Analysis and Documentation

  • Interpret and analyze construction project ISOs (Isometric Drawings).
  • Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on ISOs for material procurement.
  • Utilize technical expertise to create detailed shop drawings and schematics.
  • Prepare comprehensive takeoff reports and documentation for project management and client review.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness in all documentation.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for material pricing and availability.
  • Provide support during project bidding processes.

Estimation and Planning

  • Estimate quantities and costs of materials required for projects, with a focus on underground piping systems.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor and equipment based on project specifications.
  • Source and price materials for procurement.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving measures.
  • Assist in the development of project timelines and budgets.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, specifications, and building codes.
  • Conduct on-site visits and assessments when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Take-Off Estimator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting ISOs.
  • Ability to create detailed BOMs and accurate shop drawings.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes, especially in underground piping systems.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
