Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Market Development Associate with a strong hunter mentality to grow customer enrollments through broker channels and strategic partnerships. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and ideally has experience in residential energy markets. Small Business and C&I experience are a plus, and prior industry knowledge will be highly valued. The Market Development Associate will also oversee the monthly broker commission payment process to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and expand broker and partner relationships to drive new customer enrollments.
  • Create and execute partnership strategies that increase residential growth; expand into SMB/C&I where applicable.
  • Prospect, negotiate, and close new partnership opportunities with a focus on rapid enrollment growth.
  • Act as a customer-facing representative, ensuring professionalism and responsiveness.
  • Oversee the monthly broker commission payment process, coordinating with internal teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Track and report on broker and partnership performance against key KPIs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Finance to align sales strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Represent at industry events and networking opportunities to drive awareness and pipeline growth.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a hunter role.
  • Experience managing broker channels and partnerships in the retail electricity industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; ability to build trust quickly.
  • Excellent organizational skills to oversee both sales pipelines and commission processes.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to track results and recommend improvements.
