Our client is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs), crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. They are looking to add a Logistics Analyst to their Supply Chain team in Houston, TX!
The successful candidate will be expected to support the Company’s Logistic strategy to coordinate all aspects of transportation of equipment and material for Capital Projects, Field Engineering, Operations and Maintenance. The Logistics Analyst facilitates and expedites the flow of materials to and from various locations and arranges for the storage of deliverable goods when applicable.
Responsibilities:
Arrange for and coordinate all aspects of transportation and expediting services required for Capital Projects, Field Engineering, Operations and Maintenance
Execution of permit loads
Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
Compliance with all TSA, DOT and Customs regulations and accurate, efficient preparation of all required paperwork for delay-free forwarding
Consult with material and equipment suppliers to receive correct information on weights and dimensions of all freight and provide to carriers
Select carriers for transportation and negotiate rates and contracts with carriers.
Ensure selected carrier meets all insurance requirements and contractual obligations
Continuous involvement with selected carriers and internal project team, throughout the shipment process from carrier selection to successful completion of the shipment
Manage communication between the third-party logistics vendor and/or carriers, project team and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects
Consult with material and equipment suppliers and the jobsite to coordinate deliveries and identify, report and resolve discrepancies
Maintain all applicable files associated with shipments
Selection of suppliers to help meet the company’s needs in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner
Provide accurate and timely updates of project status to all involved
Manage performance of vendor relationships with third-party trucking, freight forwarders and carriers
Manage freight spend and schedule quarterly reviews with third party logistics partner, key carriers and Company management
Attend on-site load/off load operations sites as required
Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is preferred; high school diploma or GED required
Prior experience with freight forwarding and logistics preferred
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Superb organizational skills with strong attention to detail and negotiating skills to resolve problems
The ability to intuitively follow the logical flow of production and fabrication schedules and understanding the obligations involved with contracts and procurement
Must be team oriented with the ability to organize time and tasks
Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of job tasks and project requirements
