Job Overview:
The Technical Proposal Specialist position is an internal and external customer interfacing member of the UXP (Unit Parts and Exchange) team responsible for developing technical proposals and selling parts and services for OEM and non-OEM products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Market
- Identify and prioritize large-bore integral engines for parts sales and overhauls based on the installed fleet
- Identify and build relationships with the top customers who are interested in OEM+ product
- Evaluate competition and build SWOT analysis to optimize our position in this business
Offering
- Evaluate and build field service capabilities for overhauls
- Identify high failure or high-volume parts to stock, and recommend suitable stocking levels
- Identify parts to improve with engineering support
- Provide technical support to customers
Commercial
- Train and develop our sales personnel to offer and sell large-bore integral engine products and services
- Develop pricing plans and discounts/multipliers in collaboration with Pricing team for key customers and products
- Collaborate with other third-party service companies to complement our offerings
- Responsible for the overall topline growth and margin success of the large-bore integral engines initiative
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum High School diploma or GED from an accredited school or institution with at least 7 years of experience in sales, engineering or commercial proposal development
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred
- Strong knowledge of combustion, emissions and performance standards of reciprocating engines preferred
- Basic understanding of contract structures
- Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), CRM and SAP
