Job Description

Our client serves as one of the largest tank manufacturers and the sole pole manufacturer in West Texas. They are looking to add a Safety Manager to their team in the Midland, TX area.

Successful candidates must pass a background check and drug screening as a requirement for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with OSHA, TCEQ, and industry regulatory standards
  • Develop and conduct robust safety training programs, including employee orientations, monthly safety meetings, and continuous workforce education
  • Manage personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory, conduct equipment inspections, and verify safety protocols for all workplace environments
  • Exercise stop-work authority, investigate incidents, and perform root cause analysis to prevent future workplace accidents
  • Maintain detailed documentation of safety records, regulatory reports, and Safety Data Sheets with precision and thoroughness
  • Coordinate emergency response protocols, provide basic first aid, and support workplace injury management processes
  • Work collaboratively with management, supervisors, and employees to foster a proactive safety-conscious organizational culture
  • Continuously research, propose, and implement innovative safety practices, equipment, and machinery to minimize workplace risks

Qualifications:

Educational/Professional:

  • Maintain general working knowledge of OSHA requirements and industry safety aspects
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, or related field
  • Preferred: Strong background in medical first responder experience

General:

  • 3-5 years of HSE experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities
  • Preferred: Bilingual abilities in Spanish
  • Motivate staff to recognize unsafe practices and adopt safety-conscious attitudes
  • Facilitate and participate in group meetings
  • High level of dedication and team-player mentality
