The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to the timeline and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. Create and maintain a plan that communicates tasks, milestone dates, status and resource allocation. Coordinate delivery of development and production releases that meet quality assurance standards. Assist technical team in design and development tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with business, IT, and cybersecurity partners to strategize, plan and implement needed projects within designated time and budget constraints.
- Develop, present, and lead project planning efforts including project definition, project justification/NPV, proposals, success criteria, risks/issues, requirements definition, technical design, testing procedures and documentation, system documentation, user training, and production delivery while coordinating and communicating with business and technical resources.
- Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Host and facilitate regular meetings for status updates, requirements definition, technical design, architectural reviews, demand management, and audit review.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Maintain appropriate status reports, meeting minutes, and follow-up with business partners and technical resources.
- Identify resources needed to deliver projects successfully.
- Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects.
- Effectively apply and enforce project methodology standards.
- Minimize and manage exposure and risk on projects.
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Maintain project actual and forecasted budgets utilizing the various IT systems used for requests for expenditures, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Explain and account for budget variances and work with other personnel to ensure accounting policies and processes are followed, including those for both capital and expense
Education:
- A four-year degree in a relevant field (technology or some form of management/planning) is required
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of leading cybersecurity frameworks and methodologies (NIST CSF, CIS RAM, SCF, FAIR)
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity and IT concepts (risk assessment, vulnerability management, cloud security, network segmentation, secure architecture)
- Knowledge of project management discipline and practices
- Proficient in MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Independent, self-directed, and able to solve problems independently or in a team setting
- Able to handle multiple priority tasks, work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines when necessary
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cybersecurity and IT leaders, third-party vendors, and other support teams
Working Conditions:
- This role can be onsite or hybrid for candidates in Utah, New Jersey, or Texas, or fully remote with infrequent travel to an office location if necessary
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours as necessary, especially during critical issue resolution, major milestone delivery or go-live
