Job Description

The Vice President of Sales Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for optimizing and scaling the sales infrastructure to drive sustainable growth and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer (CSO), the VP of Sales Operations will design, implement, and manage systems, processes, and analytics that support the sales organization’s effectiveness and efficiency. This role is critical in ensuring alignment between sales strategies and execution, enabling the organization to exceed revenue targets and deliver exceptional value to its customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Partner with the CSO to establish long-term sales goals, operational benchmarks, and metrics. Develop and lead the strategic vision for sales operations to align with the company’s overall business objectives.
  • Design and implement streamlined sales processes to enhance productivity and consistency across the sales organization to identify and eliminate operational inefficiencies, leveraging best practices and innovative solutions. Oversee sales enablement programs, ensuring the team has the tools, training, and resources to succeed.
  • Manage and optimize CRM and other sales technology platforms, ensuring they meet the organization’s needs to ensure a seamless integration of systems across cross-functional teams such as marketing, finance, and operations. Evaluate and deploy new tools and technologies to enhance sales performance and insights.
  • Build and lead a high-performing sales operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Mentor and develop team members to achieve professional growth and deliver exceptional outcomes.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics, forecasts, and KPIs to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Build and oversee a robust sales analytics framework to provide actionable insights and drive data-informed decision-making while managing the sales operations budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in sales operations, business operations, or a related field, with at least 8 years in a leadership role within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry or other related field.
  • Proven success in scaling and optimizing sales organizations in a fast-paced, complex environment. Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with sales forecasting, pipeline management, and expertise in CRM platforms and sales analytics tools.
