Job Description
Our client is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs), crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. They have a beautiful office located in Downtown Houston and are looking to add a Payroll Analyst to their IT team!The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for performing various tasks and procedures necessary to administer salaries & wages, withholdings, benefits and other amounts payable to Enterprise Products employees.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and validate calculations for employee wages, benefits, taxes & other withholdings in the Oracle system.
- Validate the accuracy of employee time and attendance entries approved by supervisors for processing.
- Maintain well-organized current and historical employee payroll records for elections, changes and other supporting information.
- Complete all required Federal and State forms and filing procedures necessary for new hires, changes and terminated employees.
- Administer involuntary garnishments and taxes levied in accordance with orders issued by local, state, and federal authorities.
- Support quarterly and year-end payroll processing/reporting (Forms 940-941, W-2s, etc.)
- Assist in compiling data and special requests during audits, systems or controls testing and other internal/external initiatives.
- Exhibit effective skills in providing timely service, tactfully handling disputes, and creating effective working relationships with employees, customers, and co-workers.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or Communications is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of payroll experience is required.
- Must maintain a high degree of care and diligence in protecting the confidentiality of employee personal information and documents.
- Must be able to work independently, set priorities, meet deadlines, solve problems, and satisfy commitments.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary for interacting with all levels of the organization.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or American Payroll Association certifications such as CPP or FPC are a plus
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations including their respective websites, forms and procedures is a plus.
- Experience using, testing, or implementing the Oracle Payroll system is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including basic functions and pivot tables to summarize, evaluate, reconcile, and report data is a plus.
