Job Description

Our client is looking to fill a Route Sales Associate position on their sales team in the Midland-Odessa area! They provide natural gas compression equipment and services to customers globally in the Oil & Gas, Power, Transportation, and Marine sectors. Headquartered in Houston, TX, but with commercial and services hubs around the world, our client provides world-class services to more than 22,000 units in its installed base.

Successful candidates must pass a background check, MVR check, and drug screening as a requirement for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for selling Reciprocating product(s), services, and parts within a geographic area 
  • Interact with customers (current & new) to understand their business needs and goals 
  • Communicate new Cooper innovations & technology solutions to address customer operational issues 
  • Define sales strategy for targeted clients 
  • Cooperates with (technical) sales support to realize sales 
  • Travel to various locations within Texas to pick-up and deliver parts 
  • Deal with customers on location to coordinate return dates, special request, and paperwork  
  • Inform management of any customer remarks pertaining to complaints or praise that may come up during the pick-up or delivery 
  • Report to management any customer feed-back regarding completed or future work 
  • Travel ~60% of the time through Texas  

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred; High School diploma or GED from an accredited school or institution required
  • 3 years of experience in Sales required
  • Fluent in Spanish preferred 
  • Minimum 5 years of Oil & Gas Industry experience with a focus in sales origination 
  • Individual must maintain a good driving record and be willing to travel with overnight stay 
  • Have knowledge of oilfield, production facilities, and compression operations 
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers 
  • Reciprocating compressor and engine experience 
  • Results driven Leadership philosophy that utilizes an empowerment style to achieve innovative, continuous, and measurable results 
  • Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) 
  • Commitment to safety, customer service quality and to work in team-oriented environment 
  • Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task
