You will thrive in a dynamic, small office environment in Houston, where you will spend your days meeting with potential clients and building a robust pipeline of opportunities.
This position will require travel up to 25% of the time. Candidates MUST be based in Houston.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development
Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with firm objectives.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to generate leads across practice areas and work with firm partners to convert them into clients.
Create and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients and opportunities.
Monitor market trends and conduct market research to identify potential clients and understand their legal service needs.
Collaborate with practice group leaders to develop industry and sector-specific growth strategies.
Work with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and materials.
Client Relationship Management
Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at target organizations.
Coordinate with partners to ensure high levels of client satisfaction by addressing concerns with timely responses.
Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless transition from business development to service delivery.
Organize and attend client meetings, industry events, and networking functions to promote the firm.
Utilize CRM software to track client interactions and maintain accurate records of all sales activities. Proposal Management
Lead the development of compelling proposals for all service areas and markets.
Create customized fee proposals and alternative fee arrangements in conjunction with the partners and billing team.
Track proposal outcomes and conduct a win/loss analysis to improve success rates.
Prepare regular reports on pipeline, conversion rates, and ROI.
Client Consultation and Solution Development
Work closely with the legal services team to understand the firm’s offerings and match them to client needs.
Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients to assess their requirements in order to introduce them to leadership of the correct service line.
Prepare and present proposals, service agreements, pricing plans and letters of engagement to potential clients.
Position Requirements
6+ years of experience in business or client development for a legal services or oil and gas services provider
3+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry with a focus on the Houston market
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field
Proven track record of generating new business in a professional services or legal firm
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills, proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, analyze, organize, attend to detail, and follow through
Ability to be coached by others
Commitment to excellent client service
Must be based in Houston
Software Application Experience
Experience with HubSpot is preferred
Proficiency in MS Office suite applications, specifically MS Excel
