Job Description
Our client, the leader in manufacturing and innovation of concrete batching plants and equipment, is looking to add a CAD Designer to their team!
As the designer, you will be responsible for preparing clear, complete, and accurate working plans/detailed technical drawings based on given specifications and calculations.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks. This will be a hands-on position with time spent in the manufacturing environment, participation in team meetings, and completing projects in an assortment of ways.
Duties include:
- Under supervision, coordinate and prepare equipment designs
- Creating fabrication designs in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Creating assembly designs in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Participating in the resolution of issues with fabrication designs
- Complete final drawing/sketches ensuring accuracy of dimensions of parts, materials to be used, parts in relations to each other, and parts in relation to the whole structure/project
- Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality; make adjustments or engineering changes as required
The background of the successful candidate must include the following:
- A related two-year engineering degree or an additional year of mechanical engineering or design engineering experience
- Two or more years of SolidWorks design experience with the mindset of fabrication and welding, featuring modeling and assembly
- Two or more years of AutoCAD design experience
- Two or more years of structural and mechanical design experience
- Ability to work independently and have initiative to learn/create
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to compile an operations manual for projects, if needed
- Possess a solid work history
