Data Cloud Platform Engineer
Location: Worcester County or Boston, MA
Hybrid 3 days on-site and 2 days remotely
Direct Hire Role

We are looking for a passionate Cloud Platform Engineer to join our innovative Data Engineering team. In this role, you'll play a key part in building and refining a powerful data platform, enabling the creation of advanced data products for our sophisticated consumers. As an Engineer you will be a part of an agile team delivering value. Using modern tools and technologies. You will work closely with the data architect and stakeholders and help us transform into a data driven organization.

Job Summary / Skillsets

  • Deep understanding of core AWS services: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS, RDS, etc.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform. 
  • Knowledge of AWS and networking concepts: VPC, subnets, NAT gateways, security groups, routing tables.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools: Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with configuration management: Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Strong scripting and programming skills: Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with security scanning tools: Snyk, Trivy, Checkov, AWS Inspector.
  • Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) and least privilege principles.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks: NIST, CIS Benchmarks, SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (e.g., ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
    Proficiency with monitoring/logging tools: AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELK Stack, Prometheus/Grafana, Dynatrace.
  • Experience with SIEM tools: Splunk, AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty.
  • Ability to conduct threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.

Knowledge, Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • Database architectures:  SQL, NoSQL, Snowflake, graph databases
  • CI/CD and Orchestration:  Jira, Jenkins, GitHub, Bit Bucket, Terraform, and Airflow
  • Familiar with ingestion, transformation, and orchestration tools like Airflow, Glue, or EMR.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams (Dev, Ops, Security).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Optimize system performance and cloud costs.
  • Agile/Scrum experience
  • AWS certification a plus
