Job Description:
Implements and maintains a Barrier Management Program. Allocates internal and contracted resources necessary to accomplish preventive maintenance, repairs, and/or replacement of equipment and infrastructure. Partners with leadership to increase the level of accountability within the department. Reviews and approves all departmental related expenditures. Manages all utility-related activities including electrical, natural gas, water, sewer, and medical gases. Prepares, maintains, and provides industry benchmark comparison data in facility-related areas. Mentors and develops existing staff and establishes staff scheduling to provide for adequate facility coverage. Develops the annual budget for Engineering Services within the framework established by executive leadership. Maintains a functioning Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) including archive retrieval as required by Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Completes an annual review of departmental policies, including but not limited to “Confined Spaces Policy,” “Above Ceiling Work Policy,” and “Wall, Ceiling, Floor Penetration Policy.” Provides a safe, functional, and attractive environment through routine and emergency repairs and preventive maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic knowledge of MEP system operations as related to healthcare facilities [Required]

Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction documents [Required]
Strong background in Life Safety Code [Required]
Participation in the successful completion of The Joint Commission (TJC) Survey process, and working knowledge of ESOC requirements [Required]
Understanding of various state agency requirements as related to facility operations [Preferred]

Work Experience:
6+ experience in hospital maintenance related work [Required]
5+ in supervision of hospital maintenance personnel [Required]

An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement:
Bachelor’s degree AND 6+ years of experience OR
Associates degree AND 8+ years of experience OR
High School Grad or Equiv AND 10+ years of experience
