Intermediate Electrical / I&C Engineer
Start Date: ASAP 
Duration: 1 Year (Can be extended annually) 
Hourly Rate: $60 - 75/hour
Location: Pickering, Ontario 
On-Site: Yes, 100%

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to support ongoing operations and projects at a nuclear power generating station in Pickering. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving electrical systems within a highly regulated and safety-focused environment. This is a full-time, on-site position, requiring presence at the station five days per week.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise for the maintenance, design, modification, and troubleshooting of electrical systems within the nuclear facility.
  • Support safe and compliant operation of electrical infrastructure, including transformers, switchgear, protection and control systems, and power distribution networks.
  • Prepare and review engineering documentation including specifications, drawings, and calculations.
  • Participate in root cause analysis, equipment failure investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Support outage planning, execution, and post-outage assessments.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interface with operations, maintenance, regulatory, and safety personnel to support plant needs.
  • Participate in field walkdowns, system health evaluations, and risk assessments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of electrical engineering experience, with nuclear industry experience required.
  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, protection and control systems, and regulatory compliance in a nuclear environment.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., CSA N290, IEEE, CSA C22).
