We are seeking a Front-End Contractor to support a series of product initiatives over an initial six-month engagement. This role will focus primarily on React and TypeScript development within an existing shared codebase, contributing to multiple small-to-medium feature efforts.

The ideal candidate is a strong front-end engineer who is not only technically capable, but also highly collaborative, communicative, and dependable. Because our organization is actively integrating AI into the way we build and work, experience with AI tools, AI-assisted development, or AI-native product thinking is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain front-end features using React and TypeScript
• Work within an existing codebase across several parallel product initiatives
• Deliver feature enhancements and parity work across multiple small projects
• Collaborate with a Java backend team to ensure smooth front-end/backend integration
• Partner with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and execute efficiently
• Contribute to projects such as internal admin tools, move-related workflows, and other application feature development
• Help maintain code quality, consistency, and usability across the front-end experience

Required Qualifications

• High attention to detail
• Experience with Agile development methodology (e.g., Scrum)
• Advanced knowledge in modern JavaScript (React, TypeScript as well as vanilla JavaScript)
• Strong understanding of SCSS and its interaction with JSX
• Experience with Jira and git 
• Experience with using GraphQL
• Proficiency with test-driven development (TDD) and strong understanding of clean code concepts.
• Experience working with cross functional teams including business analysts, UI/UX designers, software developers, and QA analysts
• Ability to create an environment for honest and open discussion of all issues. You involve the right people, from your team and others, to resolve critical issues.
  
  A plus is experience using AI in the development process and understanding correct prompting paradigms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Senior-level front-end engineering experience strongly preferred
• Full-stack experience is a plus
• Experience working with or alongside Java backend teams
• Familiarity with AI tools, AI-assisted workflows, or building AI-enabled product experiences
• Ability to ramp up quickly and contribute with minimal oversight
