Job Description

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Mojo Trek, an Inc. 5000 company, delivers an unparalleled recruitment experience, grounded in transparency and integrity. From midsize technology innovators to Fortune 50 powerhouse corporations, we help our clients build technology teams that make a difference, push the change forward, and develop software critical to their success.

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build, and scale the internal developer platform (IDP) that powers our engineering organization. Your mission is to treat "the platform as a product," creating a seamless, self-service experience that allows software engineers to deploy and manage their services with minimal friction.

As a Senior member of the team, you will architect the underlying infrastructure and lead our observability strategy. You will be responsible for integrating a multi-tool monitoring ecosystem—including New Relic, Datadog, and the Grafana LGTM stack—to ensure our developers have world-class visibility into their applications from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain a robust Internal Developer Platform that abstracts infrastructure complexity for product teams.
  • Design and implement a unified observability framework that leverages New Relic for APM, Datadog for infrastructure monitoring, and the Grafana LGTM stack (Loki, Mimir, Tempo) for deep-dive telemetry.
  • Lead the evolution of our Kubernetes ecosystem, focusing on cluster lifecycle management, networking (Service Mesh), and security.
  • Build and advocate for "Golden Paths"—standardized, well-supported patterns for service discovery, configuration, and deployment that include "out-of-the-box" monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) libraries to standardize resource provisioning and automated dashboard/alert creation.
  • Collaborate with SRE and Security teams to integrate automated compliance, cost-governance, and observability into the core platform.
  • Conduct architectural reviews and provide technical leadership on cloud-native migrations and system design.
  • Mentor engineers across the company on platform tools, cloud architecture, and modern DevOps philosophies.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or AKS) and container orchestration.
  • Deep proficiency with Observability tools, specifically:
    • New Relic: APM, Distributed Tracing, and Browser/Synthetics.
    • Datadog: Infrastructure monitoring, Log Management, and Cloud Security.
    • Grafana LGTM: Hands-on experience with Loki (logs), Mimir (metrics), and Tempo (traces).
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, specifically Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane.
  • Strong experience with GitOps methodologies and tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Proven ability to build and scale CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI).
  • Advanced programming skills in Go, Python, or Rust for building internal tooling and CLI utilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience building or implementing developer portals like Backstage.
  • Knowledge of OpenTelemetry (OTel) for vendor-neutral instrumentation and data routing.
  • Experience managing multi-vendor observability costs and optimizing spend across New Relic and Datadog.
  • Knowledge of Secret Management (HashiCorp Vault) and Identity Management (OIDC/IAM).
  • Active participation in the CNCF community or open-source contributions.

Our Tech Stack

  • Cloud: AWS (EKS, RDS, S3)
  • IaC: Terraform & Terragrunt
  • CI/CD: GitHub Actions & ArgoCD
  • Observability: New Relic, Datadog, Grafana (Loki, Mimir, Tempo)
  • Languages: Go, Python, Bash
