Step into a high-impact consulting role with a leading SAP S/4HANA program, driving complex project systems solutions for a major Texas-based client. You’ll be the go-to expert for SAP PS, shaping end-to-end project lifecycle processes and integrating them seamlessly with core finance and logistics modules. This is a senior contract assignment where your expertise will directly influence strategic project performance and executive decision-making.

About the Role:

You will lead the design, configuration, and optimization of SAP S/4HANA Project Systems to support complex, multi-phase projects from initiation through settlement. Working closely with business and IT stakeholders, you will translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions that improve project planning, budgeting, and cost control. Your work will ensure a smooth transition to S/4HANA, enabling accurate project visibility and streamlined financial integration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and customize SAP S/4HANA Project Systems (PS) to support end-to-end project lifecycle management, including structures, networks, and cost objects.
• Design and implement PS integration with FI/CO, MM, SD, and PP modules to enable seamless financial postings, material flows, and revenue recognition.
• Lead requirements gathering workshops and business process mapping sessions with key stakeholders to define target-state project processes.
• Develop and implement advanced project planning, budgeting, and cost monitoring solutions, including forecasting and variance analysis within PS.
• Design and configure milestone billing, resource-related billing (RRB), settlements, and FI/SD integration to support complex commercial models.
• Plan and execute data migration activities for project-related objects, including cutover strategy, data validation, and reconciliation.
• Coordinate and support testing cycles (SIT/UAT), including test scenario design, defect resolution, and sign-off for PS-related functionalities.
• Produce detailed solution design documentation and deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions for key users and project teams.

Key Requirements:

• Extensive hands-on experience as a Senior SAP PS Consultant on S/4HANA implementations or major upgrades.
• Proven expertise in configuring and customizing SAP Project Systems, including project structures, networks, costing, settlements, and billing.
• Strong track record of integrating PS with FI/CO, MM, SD, and PP, including end-to-end process flows and cross-module dependencies.
• Demonstrated experience in end-to-end project lifecycle management and controlling, from project creation through closure and settlement.
• Practical experience applying SAP Activate methodology and agile delivery practices on large-scale SAP programs.
• Strong skills in requirements gathering, business process mapping, and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Advanced capability in project planning, budgeting, cost monitoring, and reporting within SAP PS.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive-level communication skills, with the ability to influence and manage expectations.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with S/4HANA-specific PS features and Fiori apps related to project management and controlling.
• Exposure to complex revenue recognition scenarios and commercial models in project-based businesses.
• Background in industries with heavy project-centric operations (e.g. engineering, construction, professional services, utilities).
• Experience in designing and delivering end-user training programs and adoption strategies for PS solutions.
• Familiarity with integration to external project management or scheduling tools.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• SAP certification in Project Systems or S/4HANA Finance/Logistics (preferred but not mandatory).
• Additional certifications in SAP Activate or agile project management (e.g. Scrum, SAFe) are advantageous.
