About the Role:

In this role, you will lead the design, configuration, and optimization of SAP S/4HANA Controlling and Cost Accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely cost and profitability information. You will collaborate closely with finance and business teams to translate requirements into robust CO solutions, driving improved performance and control. Your work will underpin key management reporting and strategic planning across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and maintain SAP S/4HANA Controlling (CO) modules, including cost center and profit center accounting, product costing, material ledger, internal orders, and project cost control.
• Design and implement CO-PA structures and reports to support detailed profitability analysis by customer, product, and market segment.
• Map current business processes, identify gaps, and propose optimized controlling and cost accounting workflows within S/4HANA.
• Coordinate and execute system changes, including configuration, testing, and documentation, to support new business requirements and continuous improvement.
• Ensure robust integration of CO with FI, MM, and SD modules, resolving cross-module issues and aligning master data and posting logic.
• Collaborate remotely with finance, operations, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and support user adoption.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities by ensuring accurate cost allocations, settlements, and reconciliations in CO.
• Provide expert guidance and knowledge transfer to key users on controlling processes, reports, and best practices in S/4HANA.

Key Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience configuring SAP S/4HANA Controlling (CO) across cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, and project cost control.
• Proven expertise in product costing and material ledger configuration and execution in a manufacturing or cost-intensive environment.
• Solid experience designing and maintaining CO-PA structures, value fields, characteristics, and reporting for profitability analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end integration between CO and FI, MM, and SD, including troubleshooting and optimization.
• Track record of remote collaboration with business and technical teams, using digital tools to manage workshops, requirements, and status updates.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex cost and profitability data and translate it into actionable system solutions.
• Effective communication skills for engaging finance stakeholders and explaining controlling concepts to non-technical users.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in Greenfield S/4 implementations converting form Oracle.
• Familiarity with Public Sector SAP implementations and government accounting processes.
• Exposure to project systems (PS) and their interaction with CO for project-related cost control.
• Experience with Fiori apps and modern S/4HANA user interfaces for controlling and reporting.
• Background in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) applied to finance and controlling processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting or finance qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) preferred.
• SAP certification in S/4HANA Controlling or related SAP Finance modules is highly desirable.
• Additional training or certifications in business process management or project management are an advantage.
