We are seeking a Labor (Make Parts) SAP Consultant to support a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation program for a leading Aerospace & Defense (A&D) organization. This initiative is consolidating operations into a unified SAP S/4HANA RISE environment, with a strong focus on Manufacturing, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul), and Aftermarket services.
This role is responsible for designing and enabling make-part earned value (EV) capabilities across the Material & Labor Earned Value (MEV) solution, with a focus on labor tracking, shop floor execution, and performance measurement. The analyst will bridge SAP production execution, labor costing, and EVMS (Cobra) to ensure accurate program performance reporting in a highly regulated NS2 Gov Cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and support make-part earned value (EV) processes for in-house manufacturing and MRO operations
- Enable labor tracking and performance measurement across production and repair activities
- Develop time-phased labor Estimates to Complete (ETC) aligned to contract Period of Performance (PoP)
- Define and support integration between SAP S/4HANA and Cobra (EVMS) for labor cost and performance data
- Build labor tracking and performance reports, including:
- Hours, quantities, and standard vs actuals
- BCWP, BCWS, ACWP
- CPI, SPI
- Support production order lifecycle:
- Creation → release → confirmation → completion → settlement
- Capture and analyze:
- Actual labor hours (shop floor confirmations)
- Standard hours (HPU – Hours Per Unit)
- Variances between planned vs actual performance
- Support repair, rework, and overhaul processes:
- Split orders
- Rework loops
- Scrap and excess material handling
- Build and maintain make-part cost baselines, including:
- Raw materials
- NPA (Non-Productive Activity)
- SRR (Supplier Resource Requirements)
- Vendor processing / subcontract operations
- Develop simulation and “what-if” capabilities:
- Model labor and cost scenarios without impacting production baselines
- Design WBS-, routing-, and order-level data models to support:
- Roll-up / roll-down reporting
- Drill-down into labor and cost drivers
- Ensure compliance with ITAR, FAR, and DFARS requirements
- Support UAT, reconciliation, and validation of labor and EV data
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as an SAP Business Analyst or Functional Consultant
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, including:
- PP (Production Planning)
- PM (Plant Maintenance) – especially for MRO scenarios
- CO (Controlling – product costing, order costing)
- MM (Materials Management)
- FI (Financial Accounting)
- Experience with PMMO (Project Manufacturing Management & Optimization) and/or GPD (Group Procurement Data)
- Deep understanding of:
- Production order lifecycle and costing
- Shop floor execution and confirmations
- Labor tracking and standard vs actual performance
- Proven experience supporting Earned Value Management (EVMS) in A&D or government contracting environments
- Experience integrating SAP with EV tools such as Cobra
- Strong understanding of:
- Labor cost collection and allocation
- ETC / EAC forecasting
- WBS-based financial structures
- U.S. Citizenship required
