Our client operates a large-scale HR and Payroll environment supporting 100,000+ employees across multiple employment categories including salaried, contingent, and executive (C-Suite) populations. The HR technology landscape includes SAP SuccessFactors (Performance & Goals, Compensation Management) integrated with PeopleSoft Payroll. The organization conducts mid-year and annual performance review cycles with complex compensation and wage-type mappings.
The Senior SAP SuccessFactors Consultant will lead a comprehensive review and optimization of the client’s Performance Management (Performance & Goals) configuration, focusing on alignment with SAP’s ongoing SaaS release cycle and reduction of operational issues currently being escalated to SAP Support.
This consultant will evaluate both the technical export processes (CSV templates and data feeds developed by internal IT) and the functional configuration of review templates, workflows, and rating scales to ensure the solution is scalable, compliant, and optimized for performance and usability.
Following delivery of initial recommendations and configuration updates, the consultant will provide ongoing on-call advisory support for future review cycles and post-release adjustments.
Assess and Optimize Performance Management Configuration
Review existing Performance & Goals templates, workflows, rating scales, and cycle configurations.
Identify optimization opportunities to align with SAP’s latest quarterly updates and best practices.
Recommend configuration changes that enhance usability, reporting accuracy, and maintainability.
Evaluate and Improve Technical Data Flows
Analyze current CSV export templates and related middleware processes developed by internal IT for performance-to-compensation and payroll data transfers.
Recommend improvements to ensure auditability, data integrity, and compatibility with both SAP Compensation Management and PeopleSoft Payroll systems.
Document integration dependencies and coordinate with IT teams to streamline or automate recurring processes.
Resolve and Prevent Support Issues
Review open SAP support tickets, perform root cause analysis, and provide technical guidance or resolution plans.
Train or mentor internal support teams on configuration maintenance and troubleshooting.
Cycle Management Support
Analyze mid-year and annual review cycle configurations across multiple employee populations.
Recommend governance and scheduling improvements to reduce cycle overlap, data errors, and rework.
Reporting & Analytics
Ensure performance data and ratings are properly aligned with downstream reporting and compensation analytics.
Recommend or configure reporting templates to support HR and executive management needs.
Ongoing Advisory Support
Provide monthly, ad hoc, or on-call support for subsequent review cycles and post-release optimization.
Monitor SAP release notes and provide proactive impact assessments to the client.
8+ years of SAP SuccessFactors implementation and optimization experience, with expertise in Performance & Goals Management.
Demonstrated experience integrating Performance Management with Compensation modules and external payroll systems (preferably PeopleSoft or SAP ECC Payroll).
Strong understanding of SuccessFactors Integration Center, OData APIs, and CSV export frameworks.
Hands-on experience resolving SAP support incidents, analyzing logs, and performing configuration-level troubleshooting.
Familiarity with SAP’s quarterly release management process and impact assessments.
Proven track record managing high-volume enterprise deployments (100,000+ users) with complex role-based access, rating scales, and wage-type hierarchies.
Ability to document findings and present executive-level recommendations clearly and succinctly.
Excellent communication skills; capable of collaborating with HR, IT, and leadership stakeholders.
SAP Certified Application Associate – SuccessFactors Performance and Goals Management.
Experience with SAP Compensation Management, PeopleSoft Payroll, or SAP HCM Payroll integration.
Experience working in regulated or audit-sensitive environments (e.g., public sector, financial, or healthcare).
Background in change management or HR process optimization initiatives.
Location: Primarily remote; initial on-site sessions may be required for discovery and stakeholder workshops.
Duration: Initial assessment and optimization followed by monthly on-call support. Estimated to be 6+ Months
