Vice President, Exploration (Uranium)

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Exploration to lead its uranium exploration efforts. This role is responsible for identifying high-potential uranium targets, designing and executing exploration programs, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will drive discovery, resource expansion, and project development to support the company's long-term growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exploration Strategy & Project Development
    • Develop and execute a uranium exploration strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
    • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new uranium exploration opportunities.
    • Conduct due diligence and technical assessments for potential acquisitions and joint ventures.
  • Field Operations & Technical Leadership
    • Oversee geological mapping, geophysical surveys, sampling, and drilling programs.
    • Lead and mentor exploration teams, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
    • Interpret geological and geochemical data to identify uranium mineralization zones.
  • Budgeting & Reporting
    • Prepare and manage exploration budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution.
    • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on exploration progress and key discoveries.
    • Generate detailed technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder & Regulatory Engagement
    • Build relationships with government agencies, landowners, and local communities to ensure project permitting and compliance.
    • Collaborate with business development teams on partnerships and joint ventures.
  • Team & Resource Management
    • Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing exploration team, including geologists and GIS specialists.
    • Ensure the integration of new technologies and innovative exploration methods.

Who You Are

  • A seasoned exploration leader with deep expertise in uranium exploration and project evaluation.
  • Skilled in managing exploration programs, geological assessments, and budgeting in the uranium sector.
  • Strong understanding of deposit models, geochemistry, and geophysics relevant to uranium mineralization.
  • Adept at stakeholder engagement, permitting processes, and regulatory compliance in uranium exploration.
