Environmental Engineer
About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Environmental Engineer to join their team in Arizona. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, managing environmental permits, and conducting thorough environmental assessments. Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee environmental projects, including scope, budget, schedule, and on-site activities. Ensure seamless communication with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Regulatory Compliance: Manage groundwater water quality permitting, stormwater permitting, air quality permitting, and compliance reporting. Ensure adherence to EPA Class III UIC and ADEQ Aquifer Protection Permit requirements.
- Environmental Monitoring: Conduct sampling and data collection for various environmental media such as air, water, groundwater, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, solid waste, and soil.
- Site Remediation and Reclamation: Lead reclamation and remediation projects, including the installation of monitoring wells and drilling investigations.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit required environmental reports, maintain permit records, and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
- Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and compliance recommendations, troubleshoot plant environmental systems, and support EHS incident investigations.
- Training and Audits: Design and implement environmental compliance programs, conduct regular audits, and provide training to ensure all personnel are knowledgeable about environmental regulations and policies.
Potential Projects
- Managing the permitting process for a new groundwater protection initiative.
- Leading a comprehensive air quality compliance audit and implementing corrective actions.
- Overseeing the reclamation of a previously impacted site to restore it to its natural state.
- Developing a robust environmental compliance training program for facility employees.
- Conducting a risk-based assessment for a new site development project.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: At least 7 years of professional experience in environmental compliance, with a strong background in navigating regulations such as TSCA, NEPA, EPCRA, CWA, CAA, CERCLA, RCRA, and/or SDWA.
- Skills: Strong project management abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to environmental compliance.
