Health, Safety and Environmental Manager Job Profile:
The HSEQ Manager is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, measuring, monitoring, and maintenance of the MSALABS Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental program for the Americas.
Key Responsibilities:

Integrate Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management into the normal business processes.

Prepare, submit, and present reports, statistics and trend analysis related to HSE performance which shall include all environmental parameters / indicators to the Global HSEC Manager.

Attend regular meetings with Lab Managers, Country Managers and Operations Managers where appropriate where you will provide feedback to the business in terms of HSE compliance and opportunities to improve.

Ensure that all project site and sector information is being kept updated on relevant electronic databases.

Plan properly for all travel and control all expenses in line with the HSE budget.

Adhere to the company Business Code of Ethics and rules of confidentiality.

Be professional in all communication channels and keep your colleagues and units informed of any developments or changes relevant to their daily duties.

Develop workplace relationships and a culture to promote individual accountability for Occupational Health Safety and Environmental outcomes.

Notify the Global HSEC Manager and Group QA/QC Manager of any difficulties experienced with incidents, operating units, suppliers, assigned tasks and projects or any work-related matters that may be relevant.

Develop, Implement and Maintain HSE Policies and Procedures.

Conduct Site Audits and Inspections

Actively contribute to the development of training material content.

Conduct HSE and on-site training as and when required by the business.

Manage incident investigation, reporting and corrective actions.

Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and inform the business.

Act as liaison with all related governmental bodies and regulating agencies.

Maintain updated electronic copies of the various Acts and Regulations.
Required Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years experience in the mining and construction industry.
-
Minimum of 5 years experience of practical Occupational Health Safety and Environmental experience in the mining industry.
Required Training & Education:
-
B-Tech / National Diploma Environmental Health or Safety Management or NEBOSH Degree.

Minimum of 5 years Industry experience industrial / construction /mining / exploration.
-
Incident Investigation using the ICAM Method.
-
Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment certificate.
-
Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
-
Workmens Compensation legislation, in Canada and the USA.
-
Emergency Preparedness and Response Planning.
-
Minimum of Level 1 First Aid Training.
-
Knowledge on hazardous chemical exposure and hazardous dusts.

Radiation Safety Officer (preferable in CPA labs)
Knowledge & Skills:
-
Familiarity with Canadian and American legislation.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
-
Good written and verbal communication skills.
-
Knowledge to establish and implement OHSE Systems.
-
Excellent interpersonal skills and be willing to work as a team in a diverse environment.
-
Be able to compile training material and present the training in a clear, professional manner.

Knowledge of ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015.

Working knowledge of fall protection, rescue equipment, lifting equipment, pressure vessels, and fire extinguishers.

Knowledge of PhotonAssay equipment considered an asset, but not required.
Physical Requirements:

Must undergo annual medical examinations to determine that the individual is fit for this job role.

Must undergo blood lead level tests every 6 months (applicable to fire assay labs and sample prep).

Must ensure necessary vaccinations are kept updated.

Must be able and willing to travel.
