Job Description

A globally recognized mining company at the forefront of nuclear energy and rare earth mining is seeking an experienced Deputy General Counsel to join its legal team during a period of rapid growth and innovation.

As Deputy GC, you will work closely with the Chief Legal Officer to handle complex regulatory, environmental, litigation, and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will leverage exceptional communication skills, business acumen, and two decades of law firm experience to provide strategic legal counsel on expansion projects, M&A, equity financing, and more.

In this role you will:

  • Advise on state/federal regulatory and environmental compliance
  • Negotiate and draft key agreements and applications
  • Oversee legal matters for U.S. facilities and operations
  • Mitigate legal risks and partner with leadership on decision-making
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
    • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state
    • 20+ years legal experience
    • Background in transactional law, commercial agreements, and mergers & acquisitions
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
    • Decisive negotiation and decision-making skills
    • Entrepreneurial outlook focused on opportunities rather than risk avoidance

This global mining leader provides an exciting opportunity to use your technical background and passion for the energy transition to make a significant impact. With the right experience, you will have a clear path to promotion to GC/CLO within 2-5 years.

Join a collaborative legal team at the intersection of business, law, and cutting-edge mining. Help develop policies and strategies that allow sustainable growth and best-in-class governance.
