Position Overview
M Force Partners is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to oversee revenue cycle operations for a growing multi-site physician group in Knoxville, TN. This AR Manager role focuses on leading billing, collections, referrals, and account resolution functions to ensure efficient revenue cycle performance and timely reimbursement.
The ideal Accounts Receivable Manager will bring strong leadership experience, a deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations, and the ability to drive process improvements that reduce AR days and maximize reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily operations of the Accounts Receivable department, including insurance billing, collections, referrals, and administrative support
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of up to 20 employees, ensuring productivity and professional growth
- Oversee the full lifecycle of claims from submission through resolution to ensure timely reimbursement
- Monitor and manage key revenue cycle metrics including AR days, denial rates, aging reports, and collection performance
- Identify trends in denials, underpayments, and payer issues and implement strategies to improve outcomes
- Ensure timely follow-up on unpaid or denied claims and resolution of complex billing issues
- Collaborate with credentialing, coding, front-end, and clinical teams to optimize revenue cycle performance
- Oversee referral processes to ensure compliance and proper authorization for services
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS guidelines, and payer policies
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce revenue leakage
- Prepare and present AR performance reports to leadership
- Serve as the escalation point for complex payer and patient account issues
Required Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management with a focus on Accounts Receivable
- Prior leadership experience managing teams (preferably 10+ direct reports)
- Experience working in multi-site physician groups or large medical practices
- Strong knowledge of insurance billing, collections, referrals, and claims resolution processes
- Experience with AR reporting, denial management, and payer follow-up strategies
- Proficiency with EMR/PM systems and revenue cycle reporting tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within multi-specialty physician groups
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 billing and coding regulations
- Experience improving revenue cycle KPIs such as AR days and clean claim rates
