Mechanical Drafter / Designer

Position Overview
M Force Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Drafter / Designer to provide CAD drafting and design support for engineering change orders (ECNs) and new product development initiatives. This Mechanical Drafter / Designer role focuses on creating and revising production drawings, supporting engineering teams, and ensuring documentation compliance with applicable standards.
The ideal Mechanical Drafter / Designer will have experience with SolidWorks, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Use CAD software (SolidWorks) to create and revise production drawings, including detail and assembly drawings
- Provide design and drafting support for engineering change orders (ECNs) and product development projects
- Convert existing production or engineering drawings into SolidWorks formats
- Complete Red Line markups from ECNs and update documentation accordingly
- Ensure drawings and documentation comply with applicable military and industrial standards
- Utilize measurement tools to create CAD models from existing parts when required
- Update bills of materials using SolidWorks, EPDM, and ERP systems (Infor-Visual)
- Support engineering teams with design updates and technical documentation
- Provide technical assistance to support sales teams and customer requirements
- Assist manufacturing teams with technical support related to product builds
- Support finance teams as needed for product costing and technical data
- Follow company policies, procedures, and departmental standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, Trade School certification, or equivalent
- 1–3 years of experience in CAD drafting or mechanical design
- Experience using 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Understanding of modern manufacturing processes and methodologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, and internal teams
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with product data management systems such as EPDM
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Infor-Visual
