Location: Knoxville, TN
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: Competitive (based on experience)


Position Overview

M Force Partners is seeking an Estimator to support preconstruction and bidding efforts for construction projects based in Knoxville, TN. This role plays a key part in preparing accurate, competitive estimates that support winning work while managing risk and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and clients.

The Estimator collaborates closely with project managers and preconstruction leadership to analyze project requirements, evaluate costs, and support bid-day execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support RFP responses and bid-day activities, ensuring complete and competitive submissions

  • Review project documents including drawings, specifications, and addenda to determine full scope of work

  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis to develop accurate estimates

  • Assemble and review final estimate packages for accuracy, completeness, and risk prior to submission

  • Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes to identify gaps, overlaps, or inconsistencies

  • Solicit, track, and manage subcontractor and supplier pricing

  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization

  • Assist with budget estimates using limited design information (SD/DD level documents)

  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project handoff meetings

  • Support contract negotiations as needed

  • Perform post-bid reviews and analysis, including bid tabs and lessons learned

  • Maintain historical cost data, estimate records, and subcontractor/vendor databases

  • Support presentations and client-facing discussions when required

  • Assist with general preconstruction tasks to support bid execution


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field

  • 3–5 years of experience in construction estimating or preconstruction

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers

  • Advanced math, analytical, and computer skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting commercial or industrial construction projects

  • Familiarity with estimating software and digital takeoff tools

  • Experience working directly with subcontractors and vendors
