Senior Engineer - Die Cast
Location: Buena, CA
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $85,000–$120,000
M Force Partners is seeking a Senior Engineer - Die Cast to support advanced manufacturing operations focused on fixture design, die casting, machining, and assembly. This role plays a critical part in optimizing tooling and manufacturing processes to consistently deliver high-quality castings and assemblies that meet metallurgical and dimensional requirements.
The position blends hands-on process engineering with CAD-based tooling support and cross-functional collaboration to improve yield, throughput, and overall manufacturing performance.
Provide day-to-day engineering support for die casting, machining, and assembly operations
Troubleshoot casting and process issues related to temperature control, spray application, vacuum systems, and tooling wear
Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts, documenting findings and verifying effectiveness
Develop, validate, and optimize die casting process parameters, including shot profiles, metal temperatures, spray cycles, and vacuum pressures
Establish and maintain controlled process settings in partnership with Quality and Production teams
Monitor and analyze mold and furnace temperature data to ensure stable and repeatable processes
Train and support operators on standard casting practices, defect identification, and adherence to process controls
Define and maintain visual defect standards and integrate them into inspection and training programs
Support cost estimation activities by analyzing cycle times, scrap rates, and tooling or equipment requirements
Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, extend die life, and improve cycle efficiency
Support the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, such as automated ladling, temperature monitoring, and digital data collection
Participate in tooling and die reviews, recommending design or maintenance improvements to enhance performance
Develop and maintain standard work instructions, setup sheets, and process documentation
Support new product introductions and contract reviews by validating process capability and technical feasibility
Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Tooling, Maintenance, and Purchasing teams to align design intent with manufacturing capability
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field
7+ years of experience in a die casting or manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of die casting machines, furnaces, and supporting equipment
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Experience working with ERP systems (Syteline preferred)
Hands-on experience with thermocouples, laser thermometers, calipers, and micrometers
Background supporting fixture design or tooling development
Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to metallurgical and dimensional detail
Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration
Hands-on problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
