Construction Manager 
Location: Suffolk, VA (Hampton Roads Region)
Job Type: Full-Time (On-Site)
Pay Range: $125k-$180k

Position Overview

M Force Partners is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the Hampton Roads region. This is a field-based leadership role overseeing complex municipal infrastructure work from design coordination through construction completion.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader who thrives on-site, excels at cross-functional coordination, and brings strong technical judgment to resolve field challenges while maintaining safety, schedule, and quality standards.

This role supports high-profile infrastructure initiatives including advanced water treatment facilities, conveyance systems, pumping stations, and civil utility projects.

Key Responsibilities

Field Construction Leadership

• Coordinate daily on-site construction activities with contractors, owners, subcontractors, and suppliers

• Lead and manage Resident Project Representatives (RPRs), testing firms, and third-party inspectors

• Ensure construction activities align with approved plans, specifications, and design intent

Technical & Design Coordination

• Review and manage shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs

• Facilitate communication between design engineers, field personnel, and owners

• Collaborate with the Engineer of Record (EOR) to resolve technical conflicts and ensure engineering accuracy

Project Controls & Reporting

• Monitor project schedules and assist with cost tracking and documentation

• Support progress reporting and field documentation requirements

• Identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce site safety standards and quality control practices

• Ensure compliance with environmental, regulatory, and contractual requirements

• Maintain high standards of professionalism and accountability on-site

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management

• 5+ years of construction management experience, ideally within water, wastewater, or municipal infrastructure projects

• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

• Ability to work full-time on-site in the Suffolk/Hampton Roads area

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license

• Experience with design-build delivery methods

• Prior involvement in major municipal infrastructure programs

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Full-time, on-site field role

• Exposure to construction environments and varying weather conditions

• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs

• Travel within the Hampton Roads region as required

• Hybrid or remote work not available due to field-based responsibilities
