Electronic Engineering Technician

Location: Knoxville, TN
Position Overview

We are seeking an Electronic Engineering Technician to provide hands-on support in the assembly, troubleshooting, and testing of complex electronic and electromechanical systems. This role involves working with power supplies, modules, chassis components, cable harnesses, PCBs, and other subassemblies to ensure quality and proper functionality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on advanced electronic units and systems.

  • Assemble components following available schematics, drawings, verbal instructions, and operational guidelines.

  • Determine the appropriate methods and sequence for assembly tasks when complete information is not readily available.

  • Execute wiring, component installation, and hand soldering operations using small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers, pliers, and wrenches.

  • Follow production or assembly sheets, wire lists, samples, and schematics to maintain assembly quality and accuracy.

  • Support testing and verification of assembled electronic units.


Qualifications

  • Technical certificate in a relevant field plus 4 years of experience, or a 2- or 4-year degree in Engineering (highly preferred).

  • 1–2 years of experience as an Engineering Technician.

  • 1–2 years of experience with electrical assembly.

  • 1–2 years of experience with mechanical assembly.

  • Soldering experience, including work on printed circuit boards.

  • Orbital welding experience is a strong plus.
