Electric Utility Leader

Locations: Knoxville/Chattanooga, TN

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Market Leader with a strong background in high-voltage power systems and utility operations. This role is critical in driving market growth, building client relationships, and contributing to system planning, design, and execution for projects in transmission, substations, controls, and distribution.

The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with leadership skills to identify new opportunities, deliver high-value projects, and strengthen long-term client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Growth & Strategy: Develop and implement strategic plans to expand services across utilities and related industries.
  • Client Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with electric cooperatives, municipal utilities, EPC contractors, and large industrial clients.
  • Proposal & Project Management: Lead proposal development, oversee project scheduling, and ensure communication between clients and internal teams.
  • Sales & Service Expansion: Promote multidisciplinary services including electrical engineering, civil/structural, environmental, and surveying.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay ahead of evolving regulations, standards, and emerging technologies in high-voltage power systems.
  • Project Engagement: Attend project meetings, perform site visits, and actively participate in execution and communication with clients.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in the high-voltage power/utility sector.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (equivalent utility experience considered).
  • Technical Knowledge: High-voltage systems, substations, transformers, system studies, construction inspection, and project management.
  • Skills: Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills; ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite and managing multiple clients/projects simultaneously.
