We are seeking an experienced Electric Utility Market Leader to drive business growth and client success within rural electric cooperatives and municipal utilities. This role is a key strategic position, responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strong client relationships, and overseeing project scoping, design, and construction support for high-voltage transmission, substation, controls, and distribution projects. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in high-voltage power systems with the ability to align business strategies to market needs.
Market Strategy & Business Development
Develop and execute strategic plans to expand into new markets while maintaining and growing existing client relationships.
Identify and engage with utilities, EPC contractors, universities, and industrial clients with medium- and high-voltage facilities.
Serve as the primary client contact, fostering long-term partnerships and ensuring satisfaction.
Proposal & Contract Leadership
Lead proposal development for high-voltage power projects in coordination with management and engineering teams.
Drive project scheduling, client communications, and team coordination to maintain alignment and timely execution.
Sales & Service Leadership
Promote multidisciplinary services, including electrical engineering, architectural design, environmental consulting, civil and structural engineering, and surveying, to utility clients.
Regulatory & Industry Expertise
Stay current on industry regulations, standards, and emerging technologies in high-voltage power systems.
Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and conferences to expand market visibility and identify leads.
Project Participation
Attend project meetings, perform site visits, track progress, and support communication between clients and internal teams.
Experience: 10+ years in the high-voltage utility sector, with progressive responsibility in technical and business development roles.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; extensive utility experience without a degree will be considered.
Licensing: PE license or ability to obtain licensure is a plus.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of high-voltage systems, substations, transformers, system studies, construction inspection, and project management.
Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiencies: Microsoft Office Suite; ability to manage multiple clients and concurrent projects; skilled in documentation and record-keeping.
